What is the hottest career in nursing today

Many students may have been asking what is the hottest career in nursing today after all the years when ordinary nurses flooded nursing homes and hospitals in the US and other progressive countries of the world? Well, based on recent surveys conducted, one of the three careers in nursing that is still hot from this moment is Forensic nursing. In fact, there are still problems where to get forensic professionals who are nursing graduates. Forensic nurses are actually registered nurses in the US that enrolled in continuing education until they receive their status as professional forensic nurse. Contrary to ordinary nurses stationed in hospitals and nursing homes, forensic nurses are not. In fact, they work in police stations and medical examiner’s offices. The other two hot careers in nursing are legal nursing and travel nursing education. Below are main reasons why forensic nursing is considered the hottest in all nursing programs.
Still very new program – Forensic nursing program is one of the newest programs in nursing education. In fact, many countries of the world do not offer yet this education program. What is common in many parts of the world is the ordinary degree on BS Nursing, in which when they graduate they usually work in nursing homes and hospitals. In the United States students accepted to the Forensic nursing program is already a registered nurse. You cannot be accepted to the program if you don’t have license yet as a registered nurse.
Only small population – Records in the US and other countries in Europe would show there are still small number of professional forensic nurses since this program is not yet introduced in many countries. Since forensic nurses work in police stations and medical examiners office many students are not yet interested on the work because they are used to nurses working in hospitals. This means many students still prefer to work in nursing homes, clinics and hospitals rather in police stations.
Easy employment opportunity – Since a very new program and there is only a small population for forensic nurses all over the globe there is not much of a competition as compared to ordinary nurses – where even one position alone is competed by thousands of applicants. Employment is difficult and opportunities are hard for many nurses right in their respective countries. This is also the main reason why thousands of nurses are forced to apply abroad.
